490Glow Eyes
For many years, squid anglers all over the world have used jigs made of all sorts of glow material. Japanese research discovered that the best wavelength of visible light for squid is 490nm. Each Yamashita Squid Jig has 490 GLOW eyes for optimum visibility underwater – even in low light conditions.
Tactywarm
Yamashita has researched the relationship between squid and temperature. As a result, they found that squid react to the temperature. Yamashita then designed a Thermo Storage material called ‘Tactywarm’ that is capable of light to hear transfer. The cloth absorbs all forms of light, be it sunlight or artificial light from lamps and torchlight. This light is then converted into heat energy that increases the jig’s temperature by +0.5 to 1 degree Celsius warmer than the surrounding water.
